Tomic made headlines for all the right reasons following his impressive performance at the Australian Open in January. But he followed that with a run-in with Gold Coast police and a subsequent appearance in court for traffic infringements.
Tomic, 19, brushed aside questions post-match over the second set blow-up despite asking French chair umpire Cedric Mourier to have John Tomic removed from the courtside seating.
John Tomic was forced to apologise in 2009 for ordering his son off the court during a match with Marinko Matosevic in Perth. Bernard was then suspended from contesting International Tennis Federation tournaments after obeying his father's instructions.
Mourier then issues a code violation warning for illegal coaching, prompting Bernard to say "thanks".
"There's no problem, I just wanted my racquets restrung," he said. "There's nothing in it."

John Tomic has been involved in several spats with fellow Australian tennis identities, including coach Roger Rasheed.
Despite video evidence of the incident, Bernard claimed he was merely asking John to have his racquets restrung.
Australian Open director Craig Tiley has a strong working relationship with John Tomic, crediting him for much of Bernard's success.
"I want him to leave but how's that possible?"
The incident with his father follows his break-up with girlfriend Donay Meijer earlier this month, when the model and pharmacology student quipped: "I'm a bigger person, I'm just going to leave it there."
Commentators at the match seized on John Tomic's "negative body language" before Bernard said he would appeal against a possible fine for coaching.
Tomic told Mourier he waited for more than an hour for the racquets to be returned.

Bernard then approaches Mourier and is clearly heard asking that John be moved before telling the umpire to call a code violation against his father for illegal coaching. "He's annoying - I know he's my father - but he's annoying me," Bernard tells Mourier.
